Well, for a backpacker like me, Singapore may not be a great place to visit. Not because the city is not beautiful, but this place is full of shopping spot. If you are loaded and intend to spend your bucket of money here, this might be the best place to visit. Anyway I incidentally got here in Singapore because my return flight is from Changi, so i have to go to Singapore from Malaysia. I travel by bus from Berjaya Square in Malaysia for a 45 SGD. The bus is quite nice and comfy and I enjoy the trip for 5 hours.
I can recommend you a place to stay, a dorm style backpackers hostel in Little India area, called FernLoft. It’s cheap, clean and not bad for someone who only need a place to sleep and ready to go again the next morning.
Me, I’m just curious what is Singapore like. Then again, it’s not an appropriate place for me. I travel on a budget, which means I have to be smart to decide what to but, where to visit, what kind of vehicle I should choose and so on. Above all, Singapore is so great with many modern buildings and view, it’s so well organized. Thumbs up!
Because I didn’t intended to shop here, I decided to go to Bugis Street to buy a few souvenirs for my family. Bugis Street is a place where you can have many cute souvenirs with low price. Try it there.
One thing impressed me about Singapore is the MRT system. You can go anywhere you like to every direction you need, only with an easy way. Try MRT, get one way ticket or you can get one stop ticket for a day. The price depends on where your destinations is. Well, it’s comfortable, fast and easy. I love MRT!
So, there’s a lot to visit in Singapore such as Marina Bay Sands where you can see a ship look alike hotel high above the see level, The Merlion Statue the icon for Singapore or you can visit The Esplanade Opera House with a Durian look alike shape. Enjoy Singapore, but beware with your budget. Lol
